Sol Celebrates Children’s Broadcasting Award Win

We’re thrilled that Sol has won the award for Children’s Broadcasting at the 2021 Sandford St Martin Awards. The annual ceremony celebrates thought-provoking, distinctive programming that engages with religion of all faiths, ethics, or morality.

Here are the lovely words the Sandford St Martin Awards had to say about Sol:

In the Children’s broadcasting category, in a year where many hundreds and thousands of our children will be having to navigate their grief around the death of a much-loved grandparent – or even a parent – any resource which helps those children, and those who love and support them to understand and navigate that in a simple and reassuring way is to be greatly valued and applauded.

When it manages to do so in a beautiful and original visual style, when it strikes the judges as being perfectly pitched on such sensitive issues for such a young audience, and when it manages to give us something truly timeless at such a timely moment, then clearly we have a very worthy winner.”

This year’s Sandford Awards were streamed live on June 8th 2021. Other successes on the night included Radio Times Readers’ Award winner, Russell T. Davies popular series “It’s A Sin”.
