We’re thrilled that Sol has won the award for Children’s Broadcasting at the 2021 Sandford St Martin Awards. The annual ceremony celebrates thought-provoking, distinctive programming that engages with religion of all faiths, ethics, or morality.

Here are the lovely words the Sandford St Martin Awards had to say about Sol:

“In the Children’s broadcasting category, in a year where many hundreds and thousands of our children will be having to navigate their grief around the death of a much-loved grandparent – or even a parent – any resource which helps those children, and those who love and support them to understand and navigate that in a simple and reassuring way is to be greatly valued and applauded.

When it manages to do so in a beautiful and original visual style, when it strikes the judges as being perfectly pitched on such sensitive issues for such a young audience, and when it manages to give us something truly timeless at such a timely moment, then clearly we have a very worthy winner.”

This year’s Sandford Awards were streamed live on June 8^th 2021. Other successes on the night included Radio Times Readers’ Award winner, Russell T. Davies popular series “It’s A Sin”.
